What It Means To Volunteer

Volunteer opportunities and partnerships are recognized as key components of successful management and vital to the implementation of refuge programs, plans and projects. In other words, WE NEED YOU!

Our mission to connect people of all ages with nature provides a wealth of opportunitiess to support such work.

Our EE Program requires trained volunteer educators as well as program developers and community connections. Ongoing mission support includes communications, boardwork, staffing the Education Center for visitors, equipment maintenance, garden upkeep, interpretive display upgrades, special events support, and community outreach.

It’s our belief that you can benefit by volunteering. Developing a sense of place and knowing that you contributed to stewardship of the natural environment through caring and education are just some of the internal benefits of volunteering.
